The European Aviation Safety Agency is pleased to invite you to attend the "Aircrew Medical Fitness workshop" on 7-8 December 2015 taking place at the Hotel Cologne Rudolfplatz in Cologne, Germany.

The aim is to discuss with the aviation community the implementation of the recommendations made in July by the Task-Force convened by EU Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc, on the accident of Germanwings Flight 9525.

The Task Force, led by the European Aviation Safety Agency, assessed the adequacy of European air safety and security rules and issued six recommendations, centered around the medical fitness of air crews. In response, EASA put together an Action Plan, combining the use of existing regulatory materials with innovative solutions, in order to timely implement the recommendations. Concrete actions will be launched in the areas of air operations, aircrew, Information Technology (IT) and data protection.

The workshop will gather leading European and world-wide experts to debate the main challenges of the implementation. Based on the results of the workshop, concept papers about the proposed actions will be drafted and undergo focused consultations among all affected stakeholders.

The participation to this workshop is free of charge. To register, please contact Ms Olga Rando (olga.rando@easa.europa.eu).

Registrations will be open until 30 November 2015. Due to limited room capacity, registration will be carried out on a first come-first serve basis.

More information about the workshop, including the draft agenda are available on the EASA events website.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Cologne in December!
